Jelita is designed to recognise contribution, not status, wealth or polished appearances. If your question is not answered here, please contact us.
Who can be nominated?
Any woman aged 18 or above with a meaningful connection to Asia may be nominated. This includes farmers, aunties, makcik, caregivers, market sellers, craftswomen, teachers, nurses, founders, professionals and executives.
Can a woman nominate herself?
Yes. Self-nominations are welcome, but they must include two independent endorsements from people who know her contribution. The system will email the endorsers after submission, and they should respond within seven days.
Does income, wealth or business size matter?
No. Salary, revenue, personal wealth, lifestyle, job title and social media popularity are not measures of worth and are not substitutes for meaningful contribution.
Does it cost anything to nominate or receive the title?
No. There is no fee to submit a nomination, and no fee to receive the Jelita title or be listed in Asia’s Women’s Who’s Who.
What does a honouree receive?
A honouree receives the Jelita title, an official Who’s Who listing and one invitation to the annual gala. Recognition is complete without any additional arrangements.
Are physical awards automatically provided?
No. The official title and listing are free. Physical commemorative items and promotional services are not automatically included and may be offered separately. They are never required and do not affect the panel’s decision.
How is the programme funded?
The programme is funded by the secretariat and may, in future, receive support from carefully selected sponsors or partners. Sponsorship does not affect eligibility, assessment or results.
How does the panel make its decision?
Eligible nominations are assessed against published criteria. Panel identities and individual scores remain confidential. Conflicts are declared, evidence is considered and unusual scoring differences are reviewed before results are confirmed.
Will her personal story be made public?
Not without her permission. Sensitive information is reviewed confidentially, and the nominee will be contacted before personal details are published.
How long does a nomination take?
Most nominations take about five minutes. You may write in the language you know best, and the secretariat may translate it for assessment without changing its meaning.
Can people outside Asia nominate?
Yes. Anyone in the world may nominate a woman whose work or life has a meaningful connection to Asia. The recognition focuses on the woman’s contribution and connection to the region.
How can I correct or withdraw information?
Write to ask@womenwhoswho.io with the nomination reference or enough information for us to identify it. We will review requests carefully, subject to records needed for governance and legal obligations.
